Breaking news! Ring the alarm! Get in formation! Beyoncé has reportedly given birth to her twins.
According to both People and Us Weekly, Bey and Jay-Z welcomed the two newest additions to their family earlier this week. Details are sparse at this time, but that’s not stopping Beyoncé’s seismic fan base from freaking out.
In fact, the Beyhive has been celebrating for a while now. Rumors that Beyoncé was in labor popped up on Twitter on June 13, with fans expressing their excitement via GIFs, memes, and hilarious pictures. Here are just a few of our faves:
Beyoncé broke the Internet in February when she announced, via an opulent photo on Instagram, that she was expecting twins. The photo, which featured Bey wearing a green veil and rubbing her growing baby bump, quickly went viral and became instantly iconic. It will undoubtedly appear in textbooks and museums decades from now. “We would like to share our love and happiness. We have been blessed two times over. We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes. – The Carters,” Beyoncé captioned the picture. Relive the moment, below:
The Lemonade singer followed her announcement with a string of stunning pregnancy photoshoots that she published on Instagram. She performed at the Grammy Awards just days later and stunned the world with her golden goddess maternity style. During her acceptance speech for Best Urban Contemporary Album that night, she talked about her hopes for her future children.
“My intention for [Lemonade] was to create a body of work that would give a voice to our pain, our struggles, our darkness, and our history, to confront issues that make us uncomfortable,” she said. “It’s important to me to show images to my children that reflect their beauty so they can grow up in a world where they look in the mirror, first through their own families, as well as the news, the Super Bowl, the Olympics, the White House, and the Grammys, and see themselves. And have no doubt that they’re beautiful, intelligent, and capable.”
Congratulations, Queen B!
